Globalaw APAC Regional Meeting 2025

Dear Globalaw Members,

On behalf of Chuo Sogo LPC, it is my great honor and privilege to welcome you to the upcoming Asia-Pacific Conference, which we are hosting in the vibrant city of Osaka this spring. This marks a truly special occasion, as it has been a decade since we last hosted this prestigious gathering in Tokyo in 2015. Now, ten years later, it is a great honor for us to once again host this important event, and we are thrilled to welcome you to Osaka.

Osaka, known as western Japan’s economic and commercial hub, offers a unique blend of rich history, culture, and modern innovation. Its proximity to Kyoto and Nara makes it an ideal base for exploring the historical and cultural treasures of Japan. However, what sets Osaka apart is its renowned food culture. Often referred to as “the nation’s kitchen,” Osaka is a mecca for food lovers. From the delectable street foods like takoyaki and okonomiyaki to its rich gourmet culinary traditions featuring various seasonal ingredients, Osaka promises an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

The conference sessions will explore a range of pertinent topics, starting with practical tips for starting and growing a business in Japan. They will also examine how AI can be effectively applied to enhance our practices, as well as address critical issues such as global data privacy across jurisdictions. These sessions aim to foster insightful discussions that will not only deepen our understanding of these key areas but also strengthen our collaboration as legal professionals. We are also privileged to feature distinguished keynote speakers, including a former Australian ambassador and the president of a globally influential trading company, Yamazen Corporation.

To complement the intellectual tone of the sessions, we have curated a memorable social program. Highlights include:

• A dinner at a historic venue near Osaka Castle, where you can soak in the city’s heritage while connecting with fellow members.

• A half-day tour of the vibrant Dotonbori district, famous for its iconic neon lights, lively atmosphere, and culinary delights.

• For accompanying guests, an exclusive half-day visit to the Expo 2025 site, offering a glimpse of Japan’s vision for the future.

• A full-day tour to Kyoto on Saturday after the sessions conclude, allowing you to explore its timeless temples and picturesque streets.

Late April is one of the most beautiful times of the year in Japan, with pleasant weather and, if we are fortunate, lingering cherry blossoms.
